The author of books including Pies and Predjudice: In Search of the North and Adventures on the High Teas, Maconie is one of the country’s best selling travel writers. His work has been compared with Bill Bryson, Alan Bennett and John Peel and described by The Times as a ‘National Treasure’.
He co-hosts the Radcliffe and Maconie Show on BBC Radio 6Music, hosts The Freak Zone on 6Music, and has written and presented extensively for television. He divides his time between Birmingham, Manchester and the Lake District.
